5-DAY DESERT TOUR FROM MARRAKECH TO FEZ

The first day, we will take you up at 8:00 AM from your hotel and drive you to Telouet via the Tizi-n-Tichka pass and the high Atlas Mountains. There, you will see the Kasbah of Pasha Glaoui and stop for lunch at a nearby restaurant. Then, after passing through the Ounila valley and its Berber settlements, we’ll keep driving to Ait Ben Haddou (a world heritage site) before making a quick stop in Ouarzazate, where you’ll have dinner and spend your first night in a hotel.

After breakfast, we will go to Skoura to see the stunning Kasbah of Amredil, which is located along the “Route of a Thousand Kasbahs” of palm groves. Then, after seeing some nomad families that live in caves and visiting the Dades gorges to admire the rock formations, we will travel to the Valley of Roses where locals make the natural rose water. Our drive will then continue to Boulmane du Dades where we’ll stop for lunch before moving on to Tinghir and Todra Gorges, where we can take in the stunning canyon views. We’re staying at the Kasbah Hotel for dinner and the night.

On the third day, you’ll drive to Tinjedad for lunch at a local restaurant before taking a stroll through the palm plantations to take in the fresh, clean air. You will get to Erfoud, where you will visit a local fossil craft workshop, you will later drive through a number of settlements, including Touroug and El-Jarf. Finally you will see the spectacular dunes of Erg Chebbi or Merzouga Dunes. You will ride your camels for an hour and a half to a typical nomad tent in the heart of the dunes after leaving your belongings at the hotel. Enjoy the calm and the starry sky while you are having dinner, the nomads will play the drums. This night will be unforgettable.

You will awaken early to enjoy the desert sunrise, which will encourage and inspire you. You will then eat breakfast at the camp or until you arrive at the hotel. You will ride your camel back to the hotel where you can shower, then go on a 4×4 tour of the dunes to see the black volcanic rocks full of fossils, meet one of the nomad families to interact with them and learn about their way of life. You will visit the khamlia village to listen to their spiritual Gnawa music, and see the pink flamingo-filled lake Dayte Sarji (if you visit the desert in the spring season). After lunch (berber pizza) have a little stroll in the oasis at the base of the sand dunes, and then return to your accommodation to take a shower. Dinner and overnight will be in the hotel.

After breakfast on the fifth day,we will continue on our journey to the imperial capital of Fes. We will stop first at Ziz Valley to take in its magnificent fields and panoramic views. Then we will have a break for lunch at Midelt, the capital of apples. After relaxing, be ready to meet the barbary apes in the cedar forests of Azrou, you can feed and play with them if you like, they are very friendly. Before arriving in Fes,our final stop will be in Ifrane. You will enjoy the cool air and clea city because as Moroccans call it ” the Switzerland of Morocco). Finally pass by Imouzzer to get to Fez where our driver will drop you off at your accommodation.
